It is a sad week for the Carson City Kiwanians as long time member Ted Melsheimer passed away at his ranch. Ted was an active volunteer in Carson City as well as a business owner of Mustang Manufacturing and served many hours of service to support our programs. He ran the airport open house fundraiser for us for several years which raised money for Trade scholarships for local graduating students, giving freely of his time and his money to support the kids.

He will be sadly missed.

We send our deepest sympathies to his family, employees and huge number of friends in the community and hope to see him again in another time and place.

Kiwanis and Food for Thought - 10/07/2015

Kiwanians raised $1200 for local Food for Thought outreach program. Child hunger issues are large in our communities with free and low cost food offered at many schools during the week. Food for Thought helps children hunger over the weekend by suppling food packages for over 400 local children, who pick up the food before they head home on Friday.

Food for Thought's annual budget need is over $100,000 to supply all the food needed for the children.

If you can help this very worthy program please visit www.nvfoodforthought.org or their local office at 3246 N. Carson St Ste 118 or call 885-7770
